SUMMARY:Nashua River Watershed Greenway Protection
DESCRIPTION:The Groton History Center will present “The Work of 1000” documentary chronicling an important episode in U.S. environmental history\, this inspirational story examines the human side of acclaimed environmental pioneer Marion Stoddart.\n\nMarion’s commitment to the importance of creating and protecting “greenways”\, riparian areas of land abutting our waterways\, has become her life long work. The Nashua River Watershed Association is continuing her work toward the permanent protection of riparian areas along primary rivers\, tributaries\, and headwaters in the Nashua River watershed. \n\nFollowing the documentary\, NRWA Senior Land Protection and Restoration Associate\, Marisa Browning-Kamins will speak about the importance of the Marion Stoddart Greenway program to expand\, promote\, and permanently protect greenways along rivers\, streams\, and wetlands. Stacey Billings Chilcoat\, former NRWA Education Director (2001-2025)\, will facilitate the discussion.\n\nThis program will immediately follow the Groton Historical Society’s brief annual business meeting.\n\nFree and Open to the Public thanks to the Commissioners of Trust Funds.
